Lambent Skies—A Symphony of Light

DVD Specifications

The Lambent Skies Symphony of Light has a running time of 32 minutes, and consists of sixteen segments, each approximately two minutes in length. All video is in 16:9 widescreen format.

The DVD contains the Symphony of Light in the following formats:

  1. Standard-definition DVD video
    720 x 480; 30 frames per second; NTSC
    MPEG-2 compression (DVD standard)
    Also accessible as 16 separate scenes

    Directions for use: Insert DVD into DVD player.

  2. For all versions except DVD video above:
        Insert DVD into computer.
        Quit DVD player if it launches.
        Open Lambent Skies DVD ROM Contents folder.

  3. High-definition QuickTime movie
    1920 x 1080; approx 1 frame per second; QuickTime movie with blend effects
    Photo JPEG compression (maximum quality)

    Directions for use: Double-click LambentSkiesQuickTime.mov.
    Requires QuickTime (included on all Macs and Windows PCs with iTunes)
    (QuickTime is a free download: www.apple.com/quicktime/download)

  4. Medium resolution MPEG-4 movie
    1280 x 720; 30 frames per second, MPEG-4 video and AAC audio
    H.264 compression (MPEG-4 extended standard)

    Directions for use: Open LambentSkiesAppleTV.mov using Windows Media Player, Apple TV, VST, or any Windows or Macintosh application capable of displaying MPEG-4 vide. (QuickTime NOT required)

  5. Sixteen iPod/iPhone format videos
    480 x 360; 30 frames per second, MPEG-4 video and AAC audio
    H.264 compression

    Directions for use: Open iTunes.
    Choose File > Add to Library
    Navigate in the dialog box to:
    LAMBENT_SKIES/Lambent Skies DVD ROM Contents/iTunes Video
    Select All. Click Open.
    You can create a playlist with any or all of the videos, to play in the order you choose, or in random order (shuffle).

Note: iTunes cannot burn the audio track of a video to CD for playback on an audio-only CD system. Audio versions of each movie are included on the DVD for this purpose. Follow the directions for iTunes videos, above, but add the contents of the iTunes Audio folder. Create a playlist and click the Burn icon (nuclear trefoil).
